Why should I become Catholic?
Every year in the United States and throughout the world hundreds of thousands of people just like you are welcomed fully into the Catholic Church. For many, this process begins with a simple question: Why should I become Catholic? The answers to that question can be found in a class made just for you: the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA). These casual, no-obligation gatherings are an opportunity to ask questions about the Catholic faith and learn about how to join the Church.
Any adult who is interested in entering fully into the Catholic Church are welcome to join us in these OCIA classes that start in September of every year and continue through to Easter. Those adults preparing for Christian Initiation are guided by Catholic facilitators on a spiritual path that will produce a real appreciation of the unity we share as one body in Christ affirming our most treasured possession: our Faith as expressed each Sunday at the Holy Mass where Catholics receive the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist.
OCIA has several stages that begin with a period of basic instruction and proceeds through the catechumenate (period of formation and more developed instruction) that lasts for seven to eight months. Baptized persons from other Christian Churches and those who have never been Baptized and who are interested in becoming members of the Catholic Church are welcome.

OCIA Classes
Starting in September, OCIA meets every Sunday at 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM in our temporary classroom building located in the back parking lot. Classes start each September and will run through Easter.
