Youth & Teens

St. Monica utilizes a discipleship model centered around relational ministry to foster knowing the Lord Jesus and developing the habits necessary to live as followers of Christ. Youth in 6th-12th grade meet on a weekly basis with programming that is designed to incorporate all aspects of discipleship. Teens spend time in prayer, fellowship, on-going intellectual study, and service.

middle school YOUTH (6th, 7th, 8th Grade)

Youth are encouraged to be active in the church and community. We also ask them to continue to meet as a junior/senior class on Wednesday evenings for Bible Study—discussing the upcoming weekend's readings, applying the Scriptures to their lives, and learning about apologetics (how to defend their faith).

High School Youth (9th-12th Grade)

High school discipleship groups spend time in prayer, fellowship, on-going intellectual study, and service as they prepare for confirmation or continue to grow as disciples in post-confirmation formation.

Confirmation

Preparation for Confirmation is a course on Catholic morals and ethics.

Post-confirmation

Post-confirmation groups focus on forming lasting friendships and prepare teens to own their faith as they move on to college and beyond.

RCIC

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) is for unbaptized children from 4th grade to about 15 years old. They are prepared for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist and join the Church at Easter Vigil.

Forms

Mandatory Forms for Parents of Middle School and High School Students

It is important that we have the appropriate permission forms on file for your child so that he or she may participate in youth activities. To make this process simpler, we have posted the permission forms we use most often for you to download.  Print and complete the form, sign and send it with your child to youth activities.

Form A, Youth ActivitiesDownload
Every youth who participates in youth activities must have a Form A on file.  This form will be valid for the school year.  If your child wants to bring a friend to youth activities, please be sure to have the friend's parents fill out this form and bring to the office.

Media ReleaseDownload
Each youth who participates in youth activities needs to have a current Media Release form on file.

Form B-2, Field TripDownload
This form is for local field trips. This form must be signed by a parent/guardian for each child, each time we take a field trip away from church grounds. Please fill out this form and send it with your child for all events away from St. Monica.

Form C, Adult DriverDownload
Each adult driver must have Form C: Driver Information on file.  Forms can be filled out one time and will be valid for the school year.  Please fill out this form prior to showing up to drive for an event and turn it in to the Youth Minister with a copy of your driver's license and insurance card.  (If the form is not filled out prior to the event, drivers may fill one out when they arrive.)
