Vatican Correspondence
/Dear Parishioners,
On May 9, I wrote a letter (below) congratulating Pope Leo XIV on his election and assuring him of the prayers of our parish. A part of my motivation for writing him was that, when he was first made a cardinal, he was given the care of a church in Rome named for St. Monica (this practice is referred to as a cardinal receiving a titular church). Given that connection of parish patroness, I wanted to share with the Pope our added excitement. Recently, I received this nice response from the Vatican, passing along Pope Leo’s greetings and blessing.
